MT Supported Living: Comprehensive Care & Disability Assistance in Swindon, Wiltshire, & Bristol
Behaviour that challenges / Behaviour Management

Basically, Human Behaviour is complex. Problem behaviours such as depression, withdrawal and aggressiveness don't happen out of the blue, they are usually triggered by an antecedent. Some factors that can affect human behaviour are transitions, loss of dependence, loss of control, sensory changes, pain, medications, confusion and emotional conditions Behaviour management is a special care procedure designed to modify the severe behavioural disturbances of an individual. Here at MT, we follow a few important steps: Identifying the origin of the problem, assessing the severity of the problem before creating a plan of action, then implementing the plan one step at a time, The last step is to regularly evaluate the plan and if it stops working, we are to try a new plan

Learning Disabilities

People with a learning disability often find it difficult to cope on their own with day-to-day task and may need support to develop the skills they need to live independently. This level of support depends on the severity of an individual's learning disability. Many people with a mild learning disability are able to live on their own and may only require community support to thrive. However, those with a severe or profound learning disability could require full time nursing and intensive care throughout their lives. They could also be living with a physical disability. MT helps individuals with learning disabilities have the opportunity to live their lives as they choose. With our support, they can enjoy meaningful, independent and fulfilling lives. In addition to full time care, we provide residential support, as well as transitional services for people taking the step into supported living

Autism

We support people who have a wide range of learning disabilities and autism to live the life they choose, gain increased independence and achieve their goals and ambitions. We communicate with those who find it hard to be heard, We listen to what people and their families tell us. We successfully support people with even the most complex needs and challenging histories to be part of their community, enabling them to have greater choice and control, and to live an ordinary life. The people we support live in their own homes, in supported living or according to their needs. We always base our personalised support on the specific needs, choices and ambitions of the individual, following our principles of person-centered thinking, Active Support and Positive Behaviour Support

Words from Our Clients: Testimonials and Recommendations

"The team have supported a family I support who were at risk of removal due to the level of neglect and abuse within the home. Since the support of this service, the family’s wellbeing has vastly improved and the changes in the home are unrecognisable. I must also commend Albert on his knowledge of my customer and clear passion for the role which was evident in this review. This service must be recognised for their efforts and perseverance, working with a family who previously would not engage in any support.

Words from Our Clients: Testimonials and Recommendations

"These are my personal thoughts about the care HW is receiving. At the beginning it was a really difficult time for us all. HW was struggling with the loss of her mother our Aunty. But your carers have come into our home with willingness and a wonderful positive attitude toward HW and it shows. She has gone from being frail and emotional, to a much stronger and more content individual. I am very pleased with the carers. And thank the carers for all their hard work."
